DESCRIPTION: Firmware for the Hewlett Packard Enterprise
               Integrated Lights-Out 5 Management Controller

FIRMWARE DEPENDENCY:

For best performance, IPv6 support, and TLS v1.1 or later support,
Hewlett Packard Enterprise requires the following versions of the iLO
  utilities:

   HPQLOCFG v5.0
Lights-Out XML Scripting Sample bundle 5.0.0
   HPONCFG 5.0.0
   LOCFG.PL 5.0.0
   HPLOMIG 5.0.0

NOTE: Updated utilities and system libraries are required to support the iLO HighSecurity, FIPS, and SuiteB security states. The HPONCFG Windows utility does not currently support the HighSecurity, FIPS, and SuiteB security states.

KNOWN ISSUES:

When iLO is configured to use the HighSecurity security state: Firmware updates must be initiated
directly from the iLO web interface or through the iLO RESTful API until smart components that support authentication are available.
Servers configured to use the Shared Network Port cannot receive power-on traps.
The iLO .NET Integrated Remote Console fails to launch from the iLO web interface when using a valid IPv6 address.
To connect to the iLO Service Port with a USB Ethernet adapter, you must use a USB 2.0 device that is
based on the AX88772 series chipset from ASIX Electronics Corporation.
The Memory page might become stuck showing "Other" after the system boots to the OS. Press Shift+F5 in
Chrome or Ctrl+F5 in Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge to update the page.
The server must be powered off when you update Server Platform Services (SPS) Firmware. After powering
off the server, wait 30 seconds before initiating an SPS firmware update.

FIXES: N/A

FEATURES:

Initial iLO 5 release with the following features:

The iLO Service Port on the front of the server is new on Gen10 ProLiant servers and Synergy compute modules.
Use this feature to connect a client directly to the server to access the iLO web interface, remote console, CLI, or scripts.
You can also connect a USB key and download the Active Health System log to a supported USB flash drive.
Improved HPE Agentless Management support for out of the box SNMP-based server management that does not
require OS-based agents. OS-based agents are not supported on Gen10 servers.
Improved secure firmware update and recovery.
Secure Start ensures firmware integrity for essential system firmware.
Runtime firmware verification scans essential system firmware for further system integrity.
Automatic secure recovery of essential system firmware.
   Common Access Card (CAC)Smartcard authentication.
New user account privilege levels. Specific privileges for BIOS, Storage, and Network configuration.
Virtual Media performance is typically at least twice as fast as it was with iLO 4.
   New iLO web interface design.
   Expanded Redfish support.

   troubleshoot data inconsistency errors.

DOCUMENTATION -

1. iLO 5 documentation is available at http://www.hpe.com/support/ilo-docs.

2. Check the online help for information about how to use iLO. To access the
online help, Click the question mark icon in the upper right corner of
    any iLO web interface page.

HOW TO USE -

1. Download the iLO 5 Online Firmware Update Component for your
    operating system.

2. Install the firmware using one of these options:

    a) Run the component on the host to be updated.
The component will update the iLO 5 firmware and reset the iLO processor.

    b) Extract the firmware from the component. This will place the firmware
image file, iLo5_yyy.bin (where yyy represents the firmware version), in
the target directory. You now have these options:

       i) Login to iLO, navigate to the Update Firmware page, and update the
          firmware from there.

ii) Use the Lights-Out Configuration Utility (HPQLOCFG) and RIBCL/XML
scripts to update iLO 5 across the network.

iii) Use the Online Lights-Out Configuration utility (HPONCFG) and
RIBCL/XML scripts to update iLO 5 from the supported host OS.

3. iLO automatically resets after a successful update.
There is no need to manually reset iLO.
